Article published in April of 2017 on the "radiociudadhabana.icrt.cu" Web site. The First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers and the First Secretary of the political organization in Havana cut the ribbon that marked the reopening of the skating rink first inaugurated for the 1991 Pan American Games. Captain of the national team Tony García in a meeting also marked by the presence of the head of the Cuban Olympic Committee José Ramón Fernández.

2016
Beginning in 2016, work was done to recover the facilities built to host the Pan American Games in Havana in 1991 including the skating rink at the Raúl Díaz Argüelles Complex.
